24/7
5th August, 2009
So...I've not been on here for ages. Apologies to those of you who've been sitting on the edge of your laptops every day awaiting new Roz information - but I've been busy/lazy/working on other stuff.
Anyway. Here's the thing. I'm part Live Theatre's Summer Festival this year. I'm one of seven writers on a project called 24/7. The idea is that this Saturday we all go along to Live Theatre and watch the Youth Theatre Production called Here Come the Girls...and then at the wnd we are alloted two actors and given an object...from this we have eleven hours to scoot off and then return with a script the following morning at 8am....how terrifying/scary is that?
Quite - is the answer I have been going for.
I'm sort of really excited - because I think it's a great fun idea...and deadlines tend to be good motivators...and I can't wait to see what the other writers come up with - and I'm falttered to be asked etc...and then at other moments think...what if I am not even slightly inspired that evening?
But It will be fine...or not...either way I'm looking forward to the experience...and working with the as yet unknown to me actors and director.....
Oh and there is a performance of a short play of mine called Trust in early September at Live Theatre as part of the Underwriters project - which is the Live Writers Groups' series of monologues and dualogues.
But right now I have to go and finish a small play I'm working on which started out as a comedy and is getting darker and darker...why does that happen?
